Love, part II…

OK, so last night when I was looking for scriptures on God’s love, I was looking on the internet at www.biblegateway.com for the perfect scripture on how God loves us. Well, I got frustrated about it and closed the computer up and opened my Life Application Study Bible. I opened it up to Psalm 103. What do you think the title of that chapter was? Yep, you guessed it. It was called God’s great love for us. I had to just sit there and laugh and tell God that I was sorry for not looking earlier. I was telling Brian about it and he said “even though your intentions were good by looking up the scriptures, God just showed you that you need to just look it up in His word on your own.” How true, how true!!! I think I just get to lazy and look up what I need on the Internet.
Well, that was all I had to mention about love today.
Today’s Verse from the New Living Translation |
Don’t visit your neighbors too often,
|
Encouragement for Today |
What practical advice for maintaining pleasant relationships: don’t be a pest, always visiting your neighbor (or phoning or sending e-mails, as the case may be). We need to give other people space to live their own lives. (This could also apply to grown children, who may or may not be “neighbors” technically, but with whom we can wear out our welcome by intruding too often.) |
I would hope that I am not a nuisance to my children or to friends. I am one that usually trys to give them space. I know from experience that when some people get home from work, they want to relax, watch some TV, or get on the Internet, just chill. Last thing they want to do is talk on the phone or entertain people. For instance, my daughter just called to see if she could come over and do a couple loads of laundry tonight, but she wanted to know if she could bring her friend Chris over with her. I let her know that her dad had a pretty rough day yesterday and it is spilling over today. I also let her know that she could definitely come over to do her laundry, but I would prefer Chris not come over due to us not wanting to entertain him to keep him occupied. She said she understood and that wasn’t a problem, she just wanted to ask. I’m glad she understands. I know it makes us sound a little selfish, but sometimes you just want to be alone with your family. You know what I mean?
Gotta run, have a great day, and keep warm. Love, love!!! XOXOXO
