Prayer…
March 4, 2008 by stephi92569
So today in group we were talking about Chapter 6, prayer, in the book Desiring God. We were talking about if when we pray do we pray for ourselves or for others? I pray for others. I have always felt as though it is selfish of me to pray for myself. Do you feel as though it is selfish? I know it is alway’s God’s will be done, but I like to throw my prayers in also for friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, etc. Do I pray for others to glorify God, or do I do it out of needing to make sure I get the prayers in?
Well, I came home from work today feeling really crappy and tonight I feel even worse. When I got home I took about a 1 1/2 hour nap. I got up curled up on the couch and listened to the TV. Not that there was anything on. I can’t stand soap operas. But I have been chilled all day long, feverish, runny nose, runny eyes, coughing like crazy, and my head is going to split. THIS SUCKS!!!
Well, I hope everyone has a good day tomorrow, I’m just going to stay on the couch like a potato and vegetate.
Today’s Verse from the New Living Translation |
“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home. If this were not so, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”John 14:2–3 |
Encouragement for Today |
What words of comfort—Jesus is preparing a place specifically for you, and at some point he’ll come and get you to be with him forever. This is the hope of heaven. Is it real to you? Can you imagine what your “place” might look like, sound like, smell like, feel like? Can you make room for it in your heart and mind, as Jesus is making room for it in his heaven? |
Sending love to all, but don’t worry, I’m not sending any germs.  XOXOXO
