Abandonment…
March 6, 2008 by stephi92569
First off, I would like to say that I am feeling a little better. I’m still stuffy, but the fevers have stopped. I still stayed home from work today, just to be on the safe side and to get some extra rest.Â
Well, I have been reading the book, The Shack. It is a great book. One part in there talks about abandonment. I won’t go into detail, but Mack asks Jesus if he was with Missy, (his daughter), when she was murdered. Jesus said, Yes I was there and she was comforted. So my question to you is during hard times do you ever feel as though Jesus is with you or do you feel as though He has abandoned you? Sometimes I have wondered that. But I think deep in my heart, I know that He is always with me.
Here is the scripture for today along with the Encouraging Word. God is just amazing with his timing on things. This was in my email this morning.
Today’s Verse from the New Living Translation |
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth. The world cannot receive him, because it isn’t looking for him and doesn’t recognize him. But you know him, because he lives with you now and later will be in you. No, I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you.”John 14:16–18 |
Encouragement for Today |
Jesus will not abandon us as orphans. He has given the Holy Spirit—Comforter, Counselor, Advocate, Encourager. He is Jesus’ representative, sent to live with us (corporately in the church) and in us (individually). As we walk with the Spirit, he leads us into “all truth,” that is, reality—things as they really are, on earth and in heaven. No matter how you may feel at any given moment, the truth is that God is with you, in the person of the Holy Spirit, who helps you know you’re not an orphan but a beloved child of God the Father. |
Thank you Father for always being with me. I know that I sometimes feel as though you are not there, but by your word, I know that you truly are. Thank you for you son and his sacrifice he made for us. In Jesus name. Amen
I hope everyone has a blessed day. Love, love!!! XOXOXO
